That's sad to hear. =( I can just imagi...+JMJ+<br /><br />That's sad to hear. =( I can just imagine how awful it is when an otherwise good writer makes one so mad in the middle of the book that one just stops reading. <br /><br />I'm willing to put up with a lot (and I'm thinking of novels like <i>Trainspotting</i>, which is gratuitously disgusting in places), and I wonder what it would take for me to draw the line as you have. I know enough which tells me that this is not the book for me. I totally understand your reaction...I would have done the same. I can handle the spousal abuse (I read Black and Blue years ago) and even cancer, but I just can't handle something like what happens in this book.
